The problem really is not a standing military but the lack of courage and resolve among those who claim they want to live free. Getting them to even publicly state what will be required to fix this mess if it can be fixed much less actually prepare for it is akin to looking for claws on sheep.
If we had the govt. we should have we’d still need a standing military of some sort. Washington struggled all through the revolution to create a professional army. When they utilized the militia they never knew if they would perform well as they sometimes did or run screaming like little girls. Indeed ‘professional trained soldiers and Marines’ are capable of such.
Technology is such today that without it I doubt we could hold this continent many more generations without it and we may not anyway. We are a nation ripe for invasion or destruction from within, which is well advanced.
A big bloody mess is coming, one way or another. Maybe not in my existence here but it will come. The govt.s are broke. When they are forced to acknowledge this much will change.
What we so desperately need is a re-orientation of values. They should be held to their oaths to protect the Bill of Rights at the threat of their very lives.
Every cop and soldier, Marine, airman, sailor, coast guardsmen should be required to memorize them before being allowed to exercise any authority over anyone or their property.
It should be ruled not only legal but highly necessary to kill superior officers who issue orders to the contrary. They should be held to the same standard when issued similar orders by their civilian superiors.
If Trump wants to ‘make amerika great again’ he and all his followers must realize we can’t be great unless we are free otherwise our ‘greatness’ is equal to any Reich or reign or soviet or bloody conqueror of the past.

We stand ready to protect our Liberty and the Liberty of our neighbors, not destroy it, via any version of authoritarianism, of any age or place.
We are prepared with knowledge and force of arms to make war against and kill if necessary those who would destroy our Bill of Rights whether they represent domestic or foreign enemies.
We do not lie to ourselves, our families, our friends, our business associates, our descendants, our enemies, about these things and do not EVER tolerate those who would have us do so.

FK – Generals aren’t drill sergeants. In the Marines they’re called ‘drill instructors.’ All that stuff matters to military people.

FK – The word ‘exciting’ can have a very subjective definition. The first 15 minutes of ‘Saving Private Ryan’ was ‘exciting,’ especially for those who were actually present at the real event.

FK – I’ve long claimed that GCA ’68 is de facto gun registration. But so many ‘pro gun’ morons don’t understand why we so desperately need to repeal all(the ‘all’ that’s in the dictionary) gun laws and form up the militias NOW for what will be required.

Was the last ‘mass shooting’ site a ‘gun free zone?” Why are commiefornia and others still ‘may issue’ states? Why do we seek ‘permission’ to exercise the most basic right any creature possesses, that of self defense?

FK – Sorry I didn’t get around to watching this one earlier. If we had the government we should have I’d have no problem telling someone to join and ‘serve.’ In fact I think we need to return to mandatory conscription for all because I encounter so many sheeple in the real world and on the net who have absolutely no concept of reality. This entire culture could use a drill instructor yelling in its face for a while.
