The human race is thoroughly and completely insane.

You may object that the American armed forces, unlike those in Chile or Indonesia or Spain, have no precedent at all for interfering in American politics. That’s true. But consider what happened in 1933 in Austria, where private citizens had increasingly been arming themselves and forming private militias. When Austria’s Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss abolished the country’s legislature and established an authoritarian right-wing government, he didn’t use an Austrian army to crush his left-wing political opponents. He did it with a militia of his own armed supporters.

Could that be possible here? Already, plenty of Americans are asserting the right to carry guns in previously unlikely places (such as in schools and government offices). Already, they are forming private militias for purposes such as patrolling the Mexican border and protecting a claimed right to graze cattle on federal lands. Again, when private citizen militias already carry guns for those purposes, it’s “just” a matter of expanding the scope of an established principle to use guns for other purposes.

We Americans today are focused on the wrong threats to American democracy. We are obsessed with threats from overseas: from terrorists and Islamist extremists, and from other countries. But realistically, while terrorists and Islamists and other countries will continue to cause trouble for us, the chance of their ending American democracy is nil. The only real threat to American democracy comes from Americans themselves. If our politicians continue to yield to pressure from extremists not to compromise and remain mired in gridlock, the majority of decent Americans may in frustration come to view an authoritarian government as the only solution to political gridlock — as a lesser evil that has to be tolerated.

FK – Yep. It’s a matter of time now. One side against another and both against the middle. It will be a long drawn out nasty terrifying confusing mess. And it’s for Liberty and the Bill of Rights, not ‘democracy’ as this trash claims. Well, for its side it might be.

The populace are a significant part of the terrain, and just like any physical terrain feature, the human terrain can be used by you or be against you.  There are several people credited with the quote, “In war, truth is the first casualty.”  This is a really good reason why Hearts & Minds is important.  The US media is actively involved in running information operations targeting the populace, and their ability to sway the public is a persistent threat to the future of the Liberty movement.  Go read the The U.S. Army/Marine Corps Counterinsurgency Field Manual.  The media is considered an asset of the enemy.  And put quite simply, the populace is a tool.  Aim them in one direction and pull the trigger; that’s exactly what happened after poor, little, seven year old Trayvon and the huggable, loveable, innocent little angel Dindu Nuffins who wouldn’t hurt a fly.  As an alternative, look at Alex Jones who infects the internet with lots of speculation and conspiracy theories, which is its own form of propaganda, and those pieces of information get disseminated among the Liberty and Patriot communities.  According to some people, a Russian invasion on US soil is imminent.  Information, whether accurate or inaccurate, controls people.  How can you influence your community to support you in your fight against tyranny?   (Pro Tip: The populace can support your cause, but reject your actions.  Before you act, better double check that those who support your cause also support your actions.)

FK – Someone has far more patience than I do. I tried this years ago. Most, as far as I know all, of those around here prefer mindlessness or worrying about the ‘end of the world.’ Things will have to get much worse before they pick up a gun and fight. Most will deserve whatever is done to them.

On “Fox and Friends Weekend” this morning, Nomiki Konst clarified that these are not illegal immigrants, but non-American citizens who were brought here when they were younger than 18.

Konst said that Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer’s efforts to prevent these immigrants from getting licenses is discriminatory.

She added that an influx of new drivers will be good for the economy, and it will also ensure more drivers are documented and covered by insurance.

The program aims to develop and demonstrate autonomous UAVs small enough to fit through an open window and able to fly at speeds up to 20 meters per second (45 miles per hour)—while navigating within complex indoor spaces independent of communication with outside operators or sensors and without reliance on GPS waypoints.

“Birds of prey and flying insects exhibit the kinds of capabilities we want for small UAVs,” said Mark Micire, DARPA program manager. “Goshawks, for example, can fly very fast through a dense forest without smacking into a tree. Many insects, too, can dart and hover with incredible speed and precision. The goal of the FLA program is to explore non-traditional perception and autonomy methods that would give small UAVs the capacity to perform in a similar way, including an ability to easily navigate tight spaces at high speed and quickly recognize if it had already been in a room before.

If successful, the algorithms developed in the program could enhance unmanned system capabilities by reducing the amount of processing power, communications, and human intervention needed for low-level tasks, such as navigation around obstacles in a cluttered environment. The initial focus is on UAVs, but advances made through the FLA program could potentially be applied to ground, marine and underwater systems, which could be especially useful in GPS-degraded or denied environments.
