Garlow joined with more than 1,500 other pastors on Sunday to protest the Johnson Amendment, which prohibits churches from enjoying tax-exempt status if they get involved in political issues or preach political activism from the pulpit. The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) began Pulpit Freedom Sunday in 2008 with a very simple goal: to have the Johnson Amendment declared unconstitutional and remove, once and for all, the threat by the IRS to censor what a pastor may say from his pulpit.

Proposed in 1954 by then-Senator Lyndon B. Johnson in retaliation for churches in Texas exposing the dark side of his candidacy, the Johnson Amendment was adopted with this chilling invasion of First Amendment rights:

Under the Internal Revenue Code, all Section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.

Contributions to political campaign funds for public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity.

Violating his prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes.

This is exactly what the Alliance Defending Freedom is hoping will happen: that some erstwhile and opportunistic IRS agent will file suit against Pastor Garlow, or one of his brother pastors, so that the issue can be taken to court and resolved.

In a blatant attempt to use the force of law as an intimidation tool to coerce Tim’s client to fire him, a drug task force officer was actually recorded telling Tim’s client’s wife (who had also been a confidential informant for the police) that the entire prosecutor’s office didn’t like Tim Baldwin and her husband needed to fire him for his own good and for the well-being of his family. The drug task force officer made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that if Tim’s client did not fire Tim from the case he was going to face a very long time in prison (well over twenty years). That meant for almost the rest of his life he would be separated from his wife and children.

And just what was it that caused the entire county attorney’s office to dislike Tim Baldwin and use that personal prejudice to coerce and intimidate a defendant? According to the recorded voice of the drug task force officer, the reason the prosecutor’s office doesn’t like Tim is because he is a “constitutionalist,” his dad (me) ran for President in 2008 as a third party candidate, and Tim doesn’t just “go along” with the prosecutor’s office but actually defends his clients. The police officer referred to my presidential candidacy as some B*** S*** party. Actually, Mr. Drug Task Force Officer, it was the Constitution Party, which, in 2008, was America’s third largest political party.

Imagine if this police officer had said that the reason the county attorney’s office didn’t like Tim and wanted him fired was because he was black, or Hispanic, or Jewish, or Muslim, or Democrat, or liberal? You know what would happen. It would be front page news in national newspapers and a prominent news story on every network and cable television news network in the country. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would descend on Kalispell, Montana. And the county attorney, the deputy county attorney, and the drug task force officer involved would have already been dismissed by now. You know that’s true!

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) predicts that crude oil production in the United States will rise next year to the highest level in nearly 50 years, while Goldman Sachs noted earlier this week that Russia’s crude oil output has risen to nearly a post-Soviet era record. Bloomberg estimates that crude oil production from Kurdistan over the next 15 months will likely increase by more than China’s increase in demand for oil over that period.

In the short run, that is having a positive impact on prices at the pump in the United States, which fell to an average of just $3.32 a gallon last week, the lowest price since February. More than half of the states have at least one gas station selling gas at less than three dollars a gallon.

If oil prices drop too far, however, production will be stymied. As Stephen Leeb, a writer at Forbes, put it, “It takes energy to get energy.” In the early 1950s, it took the energy from 20 barrels of oil to harvest 100 barrels. Today, in conventional oil fields, it takes about one barrel to produce nine.

FK – Is there anything to celebrate here? As long as gas is over 3 bucks a gallon, over 2.50 as far as I’m concerned, it’s unaffordable. Too many ‘workers’ are making 8 – 12 bucks an hour or less.

The Department of Homeland Security released an Intelligence Assessment Friday outlining an “increased threat to government officials and law enforcement” by “domestic violent extremists.” The Unclassified/For Official Use only document, prepared by the Office of Intelligence and Analysis and the Southern Nevada Counter-terrorism Center, recounts some high-profile cases involving groups of individuals, and warns of the dangers of “lone offender extremists.” It is an update of a report released in July that was posted by Public Intelligence.

Focused heavily on the standoff with the Bureau of Land Management at the Bundy Ranch and on Las Vegas cop killers Jerad and Amanda Miller, the report continues with a well-documented tradition of conflating those who believe in the right to keep and bear arms with enemies of a Constitutional government of limited and defined powers. Citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh, who first reported on a “walked” guns connection with the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, dismissed the relevance of a meaningful Miller connection with the Bundy situation in a July post on his Sipsey Street Irregulars blog. The Millers, per credible reports, had been documented creatures of a different ideology.

A 1968 photo taken during a Lunar Orbiter mission to the moon shows what appears to be a spacecraft that is at least 10 miles (16 km) long resting inside the Crater Manlius. The photo was the subject of a Youtube video that was released on October 4 that shows various close ups and light contrasts of the apparent spacecraft. Most of the object is well illuminated by the sun, but the rest is in the shadows of the crater which is approximately 20 miles (34 km) in diameter, What appears to be a spacecraft cockpit is in shadows. According to an October 5 blog post on UFO Sightings Daily, the object is a UFO that was being secretly studied by NASA, and the real target for upcoming Apollo moon missions.

The apparent spacecraft was photographed by Lunar Orbiter III (frame 3073) that was sent in 1967 to map the moon for future Apollo missions. Prior to its October 2014 “rediscovery,” the UFO in the photo was discovered in October 2007 and discussed on an online forum where the consensus was that it was a spacecraft of some kind.

FK – Are they up there? These pix could be ‘photoshopped’ or Just low resolution but that doesn’t mean ‘they’ aren’t using our moon as a base, vacation spot, industrial site, or for mining operations. Things I’ve watched and read over the years have convinced me that ‘they’ whatever they really are they’ve been here a very long time. We’d better hope they view us as a nature preserve rather than a resource or a farm. Sadly I’ve come to think they or at least some of ‘them’ view us as livestock, kinda like the elites who run our world.

Piers Morgan is going to make a documentary along the lines of Michael Moore’s “Bowling for Columbine,” the failed CNN talk show host told Politico. The wide-ranging interview included catty remarks about his former associates along with no shortage of his trademark smug detachment from reality.

“I’ve been approached by a couple of big independent producers in Hollywood to make it,” Morgan revealed, albeit not naming any names, to media reporter Dylan Byers. “I’ve got a big offer on the table from a big player in Hollywood to fund it. We’re not quite where we both want to be yet, but we’re negotiating hard, and other people might come in.”

It’s big. Real big.

Piers Morgan wants back on American television

Bob Adelmann reported here in March that the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that “in October 2015 it will relinquish all remaining control over the ‘root’ of the Internet to an obscure but vital private non-profit organization. That group, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), promises to create a new structure that will keep the Internet private, safe, and robust. Many freedom-loving people and organizations are concerned that ICANN will now fall under the governance of the UN and the totalitarian regimes that make up the bulk of its membership.”

Adelmann noted further:

ICANN has already been under the influence of the United Nations for years, belonging to the UN’s World Intellectual Property Organization, which was created in 1967 allegedly to “encourage creative activity [and] to promote the protection of intellectual property throughout the world.” The World Intellectual Property Organization has already exceeded its own initial purposes, morphing from “protecting” intellectual property to “transferring” those property rights, or their interpretation of those rights, “to developing countries in order to accelerate economic, social and cultural development,” as determined by the UN.

FK – The internet has plenty of enemies right here.

Thirteen months later, the State Board of Firearms Permit Examiners reinstated Lazurek’s gun permit, saying it found him to be a “suitable person.” 

However, the state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection has intervened, filing an appeal over the permit being returned.

The Connecticut Citizens Defense League, a pro-gun rights group which Lazurek belongs to, now says it is trying to raise money to help him fight the “unprecedented” move. The group claims no direct involvement in the case but argues its importance “should be obvious” to gun owners across the state.

FK – It’s obvious no free person should have to request ‘permission’ or a ‘license’ to exercise the most basic right any creature possesses, the right to fight back.
