Of course, the Orwellian-sounding UN “peacekeeping” forces — the infamous “blue helmets” would be more appropriately referred to as international war-making troops — have become loathed around the world. Among the most serious problems associated with the global soldiers under UN command: widespread brutality, human-rights abuses, sexual exploitation of civilians, mass murder, spreading deadly diseases, brazen corruption, impunity, ruthlessly propping up illegitimate UN-backed regimes, and more. By late 2013, the stench of scandal and horror around UN “peace” forces was so overbearing that even the establishment press around the world was forced to report it.

Last year, though, the U.S. government still sent over $1.75 billion to prop up the UN’s fledgling armed forces and their lawless “missions” around the globe — on top of paying for almost a quarter of the UN’s budget. In response to the perpetually ballooning scandals surrounding the international war-making troops, the Obama administration now hopes to reward them with more than $2.5 billion borrowed from abroad or extracted from U.S. taxpayers.

It is time for real change. Instead of saddling the American people with even more odious debt to the Communist Chinese regime and the privately owned Federal Reserve to prop up and reward the out-of-control UN, lawmakers should defund the radical international outfit altogether. Legislation currently in Congress, H.R. 75: American Sovereignty Restoration Act, would end all U.S. participation in the UN, including all handouts to the outfit from American taxpayers. Introduced by Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.), the bill has nine co-sponsors so far.

FK – For years we’ve been told that U.N. ‘peacekeepers’ could be sent here to help take our weapons and install a globalist police state. That would be the best thing the globalists could do for us. It’ll be a lot easier to get Bubba to wake up with ‘furriners’ running checkpoints on the road to his job. It’ll be a lot easier to get Bubba to kill them than his cousin in the guard or neighbor on the local cop force that chooses to enforce evil laws for a paycheck and a retirement plan.

On Wednesday, Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) told Roll Call:

I think that the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid. And you know, I understand that it’s widely felt that they underperform, but the fact is that this is the board of directors for the largest economic entity in the world, and a lot of members can’t even afford to live decently when they’re at their job in Washington.”

FK – No one working for any corporate news source has the ‘right’ to write what they want. All of them impose certain limitations on their employees’  and especially their readerships’ speech. The ICE document showed that its agents encountered 193,357 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions last year, but issued charging documents for only 125,478. As noted above, 67,879 charged and/or convicted criminals were released.

“ICE released 68,000 criminal aliens in 2013, or 35 percent of the criminal aliens encountered by officers. The vast majority of these releases occurred because of the Obama administration’s prosecutorial discretion policies,” Vaughan wrote in a memo that drew from the ICE document. She noted that ICE classifies illegal immigrants as criminal if they have been convicted of a crime, excluding traffic offenses.

The world wide web remains one of the greatest disruptive forces in human history. On an average day it can give you access to a vast wealth of human knowledge from a simple search box, show you snapshots from the lives of friends and family spread across the planet, provide a world-class education for free, crowdfund solar power in ways that governments can’t afford, redistribute food that would have been wasted, and sweep corrupt rulers into the dustbin of history.

While the web technically rides on top of the Internet—which had its origins a couple decades earlier—it was the web that turned the Internet into a world-shaping phenomenon. And today, the two terms are virtually synonymous among the masses.
